WORK FOR MATTY'S AND EARN CREDITS FOR YOUR MASTERS DEGREE Matty's has a special agreement with Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg. Virginia, USA This allows university graduates the opportunity to receive Masters degree credits at EMU for their work experience at Matty's (3 credits/yr. max. 6 credits in Education and credit by exam in the Japanese language). Credits will be awarded upon admission to the EMU's MA in Education program. Those who are interested in this program should make an arrangement prior to or immediately after beginning work at Matty's.

REQUIREMENTS

OBTAIN APPLICATION AND INFORMATION FROM THE CAREER PLANNING/EMPLOYMENT OFFICE

NORMAL RECRUITING SCHEDULE

Oct. 1-Dec. 31 -receive applications

Early January -first screening

Mid-February -return of teacher's agreement/second screening

Late February -interview (when possible)

Late March -final decision

April-June -make arrangements for a working visa.

June to August -arrive in Japan

The applicants who send applications between October and December will be guaranteed consideration for employment, but applications can be sent any time. This is a typical schedule, but some applicants may be hired without an interview and arrive in Japan at a different time of year.
